If you’re single this Valentine’s Day, it can be easy to sulk and doomscroll looking at pictures of couples on romantic dates, trips, spa days… But there are many better things to do! Here are the best ways to spend your time as a single person on Valentine’s Day.

Make a vision board
If you’re feeling a little sad about singlehood, making a vision board can help you manifest your dream relationship. Pick up some magazines and cut out the inspo. Do you crave adventure with a partner? Cozy nights at home? Long nights by the DJ booth? Whatever it is, make a vision board of all the qualities you want in a partner and in a relationship.
Not in the mood to cut and glue IRL? Head to Pinterest and create a vision board there. You can easily search through thousands of images to find the perfect ones. Then, you can use a digital canvas (like on Canva) to cut, paste, and organize your vision board.
Have a self-care day.
What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than with a little self-love? If you don’t have someone else to lay all your love on, focus on yourself. Self-love is scientifically proven to improve your mental health by increasing happiness. So, prioritize your sleep (no blue light before bed), take a warm bath with Epsom salts, and cook yourself a nourishing meal.
Though you should always speak kindly to yourself, making it a point to do so is a great way to start a good habit. Leave a nice message on a post-it note for yourself. You may also feel drawn to skincare; this list of science-backed products is a good place to start.

Rom-com marathon
If you want to stay in the Valentine’s Day spirit with minimal effort, have a movie marathon featuring your favorite rom-coms. Curate to your tastes or watch classics like Pretty Woman and You’ve Got Mail. Or, go modern with Anyone But You and The People We Meet on Vacation.
Elevate your movie night with cozy blankets, warm lighting, and heart-shaped candy. I am of the opinion that Valentine’s Day candy is the BEST: Jolly Rancher Jelly Hearts, Sour Patch Hearts, and Swedish Fish Hearts are my favorites.
Go solo
Have a solo date! Try a bookstore or museum, somewhere that you can be alone with your thoughts and enjoy your day. You’ll look like a mysterious character in a movie. Pick up your favorite coffee, lunch, or sweet treat for the cherry on top of a beautiful solo date.
You could even try a hike or workout class; it will get you out of your normal routine and make the day feel special. Not in the mood for high impact? Slow it down with yoga or a sound bath. Total self-care, outside of the box.
Hang with friends
Just like self-love, a little love for your friends is another great way to spend Valentine’s Day! Organize a get-together for all of your single friends. You can play games, have themed drinks, or go out. Pro tip: the bars should be full of singles on Valentine’s Day!
